Incoming staff mobility

Types of mobility

Staff mobility for teaching allows Higher Education Institutions (HEI) teaching staff or staff from enterprises to teach at a partner HEI abroad.
Staff mobility for training supports the professional development of HEI teaching and non-teaching staff in the form of training events abroad (excluding conferences) and job shadowing/observation periods/training at a partner HEI, or at another relevant organisation abroad.

Duration of mobility period

Period of mobility
The minimum period of staff mobility (for teaching or training) is 2 days between EU Member States and third countries associated to the Programme and 5 days between EU Member States and third countries associated to the Programme and third countries not associated to the Programme. One day before the start of the mobility activity and one day after the end of the activity, i.e. 2 additional days are added to the period of mobility which is then used to calculate the individual grant support.
The maximum period of staff mobility (for teaching or training) is 5 days (12 days for some third countries not associated to the Programme). One day before the start of the mobility activity and one day after the end of the activity, i.e. 2 additional days are added to the period of mobility which is then used to calculate the individual grant support.
In all cases, a teaching activity has to comprise a minimum of 8 hours of teaching per week (or any shorter period of stay). If the mobility lasts longer than one week, the minimum number of teaching hours for an incomplete week should be proportional to the duration of that week.
