MU-Plovdiv welcomed 33 Erasmus students

With a presentation of the opportunities for training and research activity, the main bases for practice and traineeships, as well as the various activities for social and cultural integration, the Erasmus office of Medical University of Plovdiv welcomed students from universities in Italy, Spain, Poland, Greece, Slovakia , Portugal, Turkiye and Lithuania.

For the first time, the university organizes a special opening of the academic year for Erasmus students, who for the first semester of the academic year 2024/2025 are 33. The students are from specialties “Medicine”, “Dental Medicine“, „Pharmacy“ and „Rehabilitation“.

A welcome greeting to the students from universities in Rome, Foggia, Genoa, Palermo, Poznan, Valencia, San Pablo, Murcia, Athens, Bratislava, Coimbra, Vilnius and Ducze was addressed by the Institutional Erasmus Coordinator, Prof. Dr. Elena Firkova. A video film about Medical University of Plovdiv was presented, as well as useful information about the upcoming study process and stay in the city.

The Vice-Rector for International Activities and Student Integration, Prof. Dr. Neshka Manchorova, presented the new project ACCESS, aiming students to become part of the public, social and cultural life of Plovdiv and outside of their university activities, to learn about its history and art, recognize it as their temporary home.

The Erasmus students welcomed the dancers from the “Medic” dance ensemble, dressed in authentic costumes, with a standing ovation. They performed a proper Thracian dance especially for them and invited them to join the formation, which has classes twice a week in the university’s sports hall. The choreographer of the ensemble is Prof. Stefan Yordanov.

Uni MED Voices vocal pedagogue Ms. Zheli Belchilova, who is at the head of the university’s music pop formation, also issued a virtual invitation to those wishing to sing.
The students thanked the team for the organization, exchanged contacts with each other and promised that this would not be their last meeting together.
