From the next academic year, the Department of Languages and Specialised Training at the Medical University of Plovdiv will offer the following language courses:
The course covers A1 to B2 language levels according to the CEFR and professional vocabulary according to the field of specialisation.
Duration: 480 academic hours (120 academic hours for each of the four language levels – A1, A2, B1, B2 and language for specific purposes)
The course covers B1-B2 language levels according to the CEFR and professional vocabulary according to the field of specialisation.
Duration: 240 academic hours (120 hours for B1 level + 120 hours for B2 level and specialised vocabulary)
The number of hours is determined following a diagnostic test in Bulgarian and an individual study plan is prepared.
There is an opportunity for additional individual or group training in Bulgarian language for all interested applicants.
The exam consists of two parts – written and oral. It covers A1-B2 language levels and professional vocabulary according to the field of specialisation.
It tests the language competence for producing a specialised text and the professional communication skills.
The preparatory course is initiated after the students sit a diagnostic test in Bulgarian. The duration of training is 100 academic hours, corresponding to A1 – A2 language levels according to the CEFR.
It is intended for students from the three faculties at the Medical University of Plovdiv, who attend lectures and seminars in English, but are not native speakers of the language and do not possess the necessary English language certificate at B1 level according to the CEFR.
Duration: 60 academic hours at the beginning of each academic year, so that the newly enrolled students can be quickly integrated in an English-speaking academic environment. At the end of the course, a diagnostic test is performed to assess the language level of the students.
* for EU citizens, citizens of the European Economic Area and Switzerland, who have obtained their professional qualification in the field of healthcare in the Republic of Bulgaria in Bulgarian and in English, and for EU citizens, citizens of the European Economic Area and Switzerland, citizens of third countries that have completed their studies outside Bulgaria.
