On the occasion of 1 March, the Department of Languages and Specialised Training is organising a martenitsa workshop

Do you know what Martenitza is?

This is a small amulet made of white and red threads.
People in Bulgaria exchange “martenitzi” on the 1st of March every year in order to be happy and lucky throughout the whole year.
If you want to learn more interesting facts about this Bulgarian tradition, if you wish to make a ‘martenitza’ by yourself or just to have a bit of fun, you are very welcome to join our MART WORKSHOP!
It takes place on the 26th and 27th of February 2025 from 4.30p.m. till 6.30p.m. in room 205 at The Department of Languages and Specialized Training.

All “martenitzi” made during this workshop will be given away to sick children in the children’s ward of the University hospital.
