*Note: For the specialty “Nursing” admission is possible solely on the basis of documents (admission score based on the marks in Biology, Chemistry and English from the diploma).

Admission documents

  1. A printed, completed, and signed application form generated from the information system through the applicant’s profile.

  2. A copy of a secondary (high) school diploma and an academic transcript indicating the disciplines studied and the marks received respectively.

  3. A certificate of completed secondary education issued by the National Center for Information and Documentation (NACID).

  4. An original document issued by a competent authority certifying the applicant’s right to apply and continue their studies in a higher qualification degree at higher education institutions in the country of origin of the secondary school they have attended.

  5. The documents referred to in sections 3 and 4 shall be required if the secondary/high school diploma is issued by a foreign country/abroad and must be legalized, translated and certified in accordance with the regulations of the international treaties of the Republic of Bulgaria with the country in which they are issued. In the absence of the above-mentioned documents, the general procedure for legalization, translations and certification of documents must be observed under the general procedure.

  6. A copy of a valid citizenship document (for applicants with dual citizenship – a copy of both documents).

  7. Four recent passport-size photographs 4/5 cm.

  8. Both the paper and the electronic version (on a flash drive) of the documents referred to in sections 1 to 7 shall be submitted. Each of the documents is scanned into a separate file, with the photograph in jpg format and the rest of the documents (including certified translations) in pdf format.

Notes:

  1. Elective Biology and Chemistry marks from the secondary/high school Diploma will not be considered.

  2. The applicants should have attended Biology and Chemistry courses and have obtained an average score of not less than 62% of the maximum one based on the grading system in the country of origin of the secondary (high) school they have attended.

The documents in sections 1 to 8 shall be submitted to the Admissions Office at the Student Affairs Department during the following period – from 2 March to 11 September 2026 as follows:

    • Personally;
    • By an authorised by the applicant person. In this case, a notarized power of attorney letter (with legalization and certified translation) shall be presented;
    • By post or courier services.

Applicants who do not yet possess the documents listed in items 2 to 4 will be permitted to sit the entrance exams, participate in the ranking process, and enrol. However, they are required to submit the application documents to the Student Affairs Department – Admissions office no later than 11 September 2026. Enrolled applicants who fail to submit the required application documents within the specified deadline will be disqualified!

Payment of the administration processing fee is made online, following successful registration of the required personal data and requesting an examination date. The fee includes 30 EUR for data processing and 270 EUR for the entry tests per exam date.

The administration processing fee for the entrance exams for the re-sit date (one-off) is 400 EUR.

Payment of the administration processing fee is carried out solely online by card.

The deposited administration processing fees shall not be refunded following the registration deadline.

The online registration procedure for the exam is considered successfully completed following an email receipt of a document with the exam details. The paid fee does not guarantee complete registration.

Formation of the final competition score

The final competition score for the specialties “Medicine”, “Dental Medicine” and “Pharmacy” for the master’s degree is the sum of the tripled marks from the entry test in Biology, the tripled marks from the entry test in Chemistry and the mark from the English Language Diagnostic Test. The maximum score is 42.00 and the minimum score is 21.00.

The final competition score for the specialty “Nursing” has two alternatives as follows:

  • the sum of the tripled mark from the Biology entry test, the tripled mark from the Chemistry entry test and the mark from English Language Diagnostic Test;

  • the sum of the tripled mark from Biology, Chemistry and English language from the secondary/high school diploma;

  • In formation of the final competition score in both above-mentioned alternatives, the applicant participates in the ranking list with the higher score. The maximum score is 42.00 and the minimum is 21.00;

In case of a missing mark in the competition scoring formula or in case of a mark lower than the average (3.00), the applicants shall not participate in the final ranking list.

Ranking and enrolment

Ranking for all specialties is done in descending order of the final competition score and in the order of the applicant’s desired choice of specialty and reason for admission.

Applicants shall be ranked according to the places approved by the Academic Board for the academic year 2026/2027.

Each month (from April to June) following the exams, one ranking with a respective enrolment deadline is announced.

The final ranking and the enrolment procedure is in September.

An applicant who is ranked in a particular specialty is entitled to:

  • To enrol as a student within the announced deadline in the course of study for which he/she has been ranked, following the procedure for enrolling students;

  • To submit a declaration within the announced deadline (online) for participation in the next ranking (in case he/she is not admitted in the first specialty of his or her choice).

The applicants who have not enrolled within the announced deadline or have not submitted a declaration for participation in the next ranking shall be disqualified from participation in the subsequent rankings.

Applicants who are not admitted in the rankings from April to June may participate in the September rankings after submitting an online declaration for participation.

All non-qualified applicants can enroll in a preparatory course until all the vacant places are filled.

All enrolled students in this course will attend classes in English or Bulgarian, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Latin. Upon successful completion of the course, they will receive a Certificate giving them the right to continue their studies directly in the specialty they indicated in 1st place.
