Medical University of Plovdiv Begins Joint Franchise Training with the College of Sciences “Asomi” in Malta

Medical University of Plovdiv begins joint franchise training with the College of Sciences “Asomi” in Malta. It will be on the basis of a signed agreement between the two institutions for the implementation of admission and training in English for students in the master’s degrees “Medicine” and “Dental Medicine”.

Currently, the specialty “Medicine” is accredited under Bulgarian and Maltese legislation, in which the first 28 students, mainly from Italy, are already studying. The curricula and programs are developed by MU-Plovdiv, which also provides teachers for on-site and distance learning in an electronic environment. The college in Malta is responsible for the material base for conducting a quality educational process, access to multimedia resources and a library with literature for the preparation of students. Admission is carried out after entrance student exams in biology and chemistry according to the outline, programs and materials approved by MU-Plovdiv.

The director of the College of Malta, Dario Silvestri, visited MU-Plovdiv today to discuss the current administrative and academic work, the implementation of control and the future student application campaign. He met with the rector, Prof. Angel Uchikov, vice-rector Prof. Vesselina Goranova, and experts from the Academic Activities Department. The educational franchise is coordinated with the Bulgarian Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, the National Center for Information and Documentation, and the National Agency for Assessment and Accreditation.
