Assist. Prof. Vasilka Gyurova-Kancheva from the Medical University of Plovdiv participated in an international meeting of the International Nursing Knowledge Association (INKA) in Rome as a representative delegated by the Bulgarian Association of Healthcare Professionals in Nursing (BAHPN).
The initiative, organised in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Health, focuses on the development and future implementation of NANDA 360 and brought together leading international experts in nursing education, research, clinical practice, and digital health. Discussions addressed opportunities for Bulgaria to become more actively involved in the international INKA network, including the potential institutional membership of BAHPN and the establishment of a national working group in Bulgaria. Further discussions focused on continuing the collaboration related to the Bulgarian translation of the nursing diagnoses, their use for educational purposes, and the possibilities for a future officially authorised Bulgarian edition.
Participation in the meeting creates new opportunities for international cooperation and for advancing standardized nursing terminology, digital transformation of nursing care, research, and contemporary nursing education in Bulgaria.
