The official opening will be at 2:00 pm in the Auditorium Complex of Medical University of Plovdiv, 15A Vasil Aprilov, Blvd.
The photo exhibition presents unique shots from the front-line life of 12th Sanitary Balkan regiment during World War I (1917-1918).
The 24-year-old teacher Petko Peychev is the author of the valuable photos. At that time he was a sanitary senior non-commissioned officer in the regiment. The author had no photo experience but with his innate sense of aesthetics and psychology he managed to capture unique moments of the life at the front line in quiet times. The camera was purchased by colonel Hindenburg – a German officer from the neighbouring trenches.
The Dean of Pharmacy Faculty – prof. Luydmil Peychev is a grandson of Petko Peychev and a curator of the exhibition.
Six artists from Plovdiv – Matey Mateev, Eli Stanacheva, Yordan Kalechev, Michaela Ivanova, Ivan Chakarov and Tina Hamse will presents their pictures, created during the en plein air painting held in the Recreational University Base in Tsigov chark. The en plein air painting was part of the Researchers’ Night 2019 programme.
