Types of mobility
Student mobility for studies can support short cycle, first cycle (bachelor or equivalent), second cycle (master or equivalent) and third cycle (doctoral level) students who wish to come for a study period at Medical University -Plovdiv.
Student mobility for traineeships can support short cycle, first cycle (bachelor or equivalent), second cycle (master or equivalent) and third cycle (doctoral level) students as well as recent graduates (within one year after graduation) who wish to come for a traineeship at Medical University- Plovdiv.
Duration of mobility period
The duration of a mobility period for studies can be from 2 to 12 months
The duration of a mobility period for traineeship can be from 2 months to 12 months.
Note: the maximum duration of a mobility can be limited by the number of months specified in the bilateral inter-institutional agreement between MU Plovdiv and the respective sending institution.

Student mobility between programme countries
The students receive financial support from their sending institutions.
Student mobility between EU Member States and third countries associated to the Programme and third countries not associated to the Programme from regions 1-12
Based on the signed agreement with the National Agency (HRDC) for the period from 1.8.2024 to 31.7.2026 (Partner – The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel).

For the implementation of the student long-term mobility, the students receive financial individual support and travel support.
The amount of individual support depends on the standard of the host country (according to Annex 3 Applicable rates to the agreement signed with the National Agency, HRDC).

Travel support
Based on the calculated distance, rates are paid, according to Annex 3 Applicable rates to the agreement signed with the National Agency (HRDC).

The amount is for a return trip and is determined based on the “travel distance”, which is the distance between the place of departure (city of Plovdiv) and the place of implementation and performance of the activity (city of the host institution).

Selection
Both for incoming students from EU Member States and third countries associated to the Programme and third countries not associated to the Programme
Students who wish to come to Medical University- Plovdiv for a period of study or traineeship should be nominated by their home institution after going through a formal selection procedure. For more information on selection criteria and procedures the student should contact the Erasmus/International office at his or her own institution.
After the student has been nominated by their home institution for a mobility period of studies/traineeships at Medical University of Plovdiv, they or their Erasmus office should contact the Erasmus office at MU- Plovdiv to inquire about possibilities and availabilities.
Before I arrive
After the nominated student has contacted our Erasmus office and the possibility to accept him or her has been confirmed the student should fill out and send by email the following documents:

These agreements define the target learning outcomes of the studies / traineeship for the learning period at Medical University Plovdiv, specify the formal recognition provisions, including credits to be recognised, and list the rights and obligations of each of the three parties.
The agreement then gets approved and signed by the Institutional Erasmus Coordinator of MU Plovdiv as well. It MUST be signed by all three parties before the student can start the Erasmus mobility activity.
The student then can also discuss with the Erasmus office at MU- Plovdiv issues such as arrival directions, accommodation, date and time of initial visit to the Erasmus office, etc.
After I arrive
After the student has arrived they should contact and visit the Erasmus office as soon as possible. For directions, see Contacts section.
Initial visits to the Erasmus office should help the student with:
– orientation
– week study / traineeship problem
– accommodation issues
– travel cards
– visa issues, if applicable

Note: Changes in the Learning agreement can be made within 1 month of arrival at Medical University Plovdiv.
Note: Extension of the mobility period can be agreed upon not later than 1 month before end of the mobility period originally defined in the Learning Agreement.
Before I leave
At the end of the mobility activity the Erasmus office at Medical University Plovdiv prepares and provides the student with the following documents:
– Certificate of Stay (for studies or traineeship) which certifies the duration of the study or traneeship period spent at MU Plovdiv
