• Prof. Angelina Vlahova works in the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry of the Faculty of Dental Medicine in Medical University – Plovdiv. She graduated her university education in 2005 in FDM-Plovdiv. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department from 2007 and a specialist of Prosthetic Dentistry from 2010. She became a regular PhD student in the Department the same year and her final defense was after 2 years, in 2012. She became a Chief Assistant Professor in 2013, an Associate Professor – in 2015 and a Professor – in 2019. She was chosen for a Head of the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry in March 2020 and 2024. From 21.12.2023 is a Dean of FDM-Plovdiv.
• Prof. Angelina Vlahova has two monographies in Bulgarian and one in English, 3 textbooks, two of them in English, more than 150 articles and more than 140 oral and poster presentations on congresses in Bulgaria and abroad, and also theoretical-practical courses. She has more than 150 citations.

Ilian Hristov was born in 1971 in the town of Plovdiv. Graduated the English Language School in 1990. In 1996, he became a student in FDM – Plovdiv and graduated in 1996. He became an assistant-professor in the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry in 2000y. He got his PhD in 2016y. The topic of his PhD thesis was: “Comparative analysis of the soft relining materials and methods for managing their disadvantages”. He’s been elected as an associate-professor. He has two specialties: General and Prosthetic Dentistry. Now he is focused on Dental implantology. He was a vice-dean International Relationship and Project Activities and now is a vice-dean Quality and Accreditation.
Stefan Zlatev was born in 1987 in Plovdiv. From 2006 to 2012, he studied dentistry at the Faculty of Dental Medicine of the Medical University of Plovdiv. In 2013, he started working as an assistant in the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry at the Faculty of Dentistry of Medical University in Plovdiv and in a private practice in Plovdiv. In 2016, he acquired a speciality in Prosthetic Dental Medicine. In 2019, he earned a Doctor of Orthopedic Dentistry degree. The same year, he was appointed as a senior assistant professor at the Department of Prosthetic Dental Medicine and head of the newly formed unit – CAD/CAM Center of Dental Medicine within the Research Institute at the Medical University – Plovdiv. In 2022, he was appointed Associate Professor at the Department of Prosthetic Dental Medicine.
Stefan Zlatev’s scientific interests are focused on prosthetic dentistry, aesthetic dentistry, digital dentistry – building three-dimensional biological models, CAD/CAM, clinical photography and dental implantology. He has more than 110 scientific contributions, 47 full-text articles published in Bulgarian and international scientific journals. He has co-authored a textbook on Materials Science for Dentists edited by Prof. Dr. Hristo Kissov, a monograph on CAD/CAM technologies in Prosthetic Dentistry and a guide for patients – “How to care for your new partial and complete dentures?”.
He is a member of the Bulgarian Scientific Society of Dental Medicine, Union of Scientists in Bulgaria, Bulgarian Dental Union, Bulgarian Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry, IADR, EPA, DDS and NYAS.
Dr. Dobromira Shopova, PhD, graduated with a master’s degree in dentistry from the Faculty of Dental Medicine – Plovdiv in 2006. Since 2007, she has been an assistant at the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry at the same faculty, and since 2020, she has held the administrative position of “Chief Assistant”. She teaches students from the first to the sixth year in Bulgarian and English. She is a member of the Bulgarian Dental Union, the Bulgarian Scientific Society, the Bulgarian Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry, and the Bulgarian Scientific Society of Public Health. In 2014, she successfully completed a 3-year course in clinical homeopathy. She completed her second master’s degree in “Public Health and Health Management” in 2019, defending a thesis on the topic “Application of 3D printers and bioprinters in dental practice – ethical and moral aspects”. Dr. Shopova participates as a researcher in a number of intra-university projects and national scientific programs related to modern dentistry, education, the COVID-19 pandemic, bioprinting, etc.

D-r Zlatina Tomova Tomova-Veleva was born in Plovdiv in 1980. In 1998 she graduated from the High School of Mathematics “Akad. Kiril Popov” and received an English certificate from the English Language School “Plovdiv”. In 2005 she received a master’s degree in dental medicine from Medical University of Plovdiv. In 2017 she started work as an assistant-professor in the department of Prosthetic Dental Medicine, Faculty of Dental Medicine, MU – Plovdiv. After defending a PhD thesis “Laboratory testing of corrosion resistance and tensile strength of base alloys for metal ceramics” she received a PhD degree in Prosthetic dental medicine in 2019. In 2020 she acquired speciality in Prosthetic dental medicine. She has successfully finished two university projects – СДП 14/2027 – “Laboratory testing of nickel-chromium and cobalt-chromium alloys for metal ceramics, produced by powder metallurgy methods” and ВУП 1/2020 – “Clinical evaluation of the biocompatibility of base dental alloy for selective laser melting and 3D printing”. She has more than 20 published scientific articles, 15 of which are indexed in SCOPUS and Web of Science. She has two published monographies – “Laser technologies in prosthetic dental medicine”, 2023 and “3D printing in prosthetic dental medicine”, 2023. She has been chief assistant professor in the department of Prosthetic Dental Medicine since 2021.
Her interests are in the field of prosthetic dental medicine, dental materials, CAD/CAM technologies. Her scientific research is in the area of biocompatibility of dental materials, corrosion of dental alloys, and oxidative stress in the oral cavity.
She takes part in the organization of courses of „ПОДЕМ“center, MU-Plovdiv, officially acknowledged by the Bulgarian Dental Union.

Dr. Elena Kostadinova Vasileva was born on 07.07.1985 in Asenovgrad. She graduated her secondary education at Vasil Levski Secondary School, Smolyan, majoring in biology, chemistry and German in 2004.

She finished high school in “St. Patriarch Euthymius” with a German language profile in 2005 and as a private student of EG “Plovdiv” in 2004. In the same period, she attended German language courses at the Göthe Institut and obtained a C1 level certificate.

D-r Yosif Stanev works in the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry at the Faculty of Dentistry at Plovdiv Medical University. He graduated his university education in 1984 at the same faculty.
